The color red immediately stands out from the others it is what you imagine the color of the rose to be when you touch one. The color red also reminds you of heat and fire, when you are standing next to the fire think of the different kind of reds it would show as its burning, and think of the warmth it gives of and the emotions it make you feel inside. Red can also be the sign of an emergency, it is the color of the emergency letters at the hospital. Red is also the color of danger when it makes you stop. Red is the color of your blood when you get a cut. Red can also be seen as love when you think of hearts you think of red ones for love, like valentines when everything in the stores is red and pink, and sometimes your cheeks get the color red when you get shy. Red can also be a symbol for spicy foods when you eat something that burns your tongue like a pepper think of the color red. Red is also the color of the ketchup you put on your french fries and the tomatoes that make it. Red is in many places and you can often sense that it is there even thought you can't physically see it.

Competition in today's world is not a pretty thing it leads to unnecessary things and wars costing millions of peoples lives. Although there is some competition which is healthy and enjoyable like for example a fun competition of who can raise the most money for a good cause or who can collect the most trash around our community. These type of competitions are excellent, you are able to give back to the community and to its people with some fun when you do these with friends. Sadly though, most of the competition that occurs today is not the healthy one, people will kill each other just to advance to the next stage or have the most power. There is competition for everything now like jobs, food, money, and friends. All these lead to jealousy and hate because one will always want what the other has. For example America is one of the biggest competitions to other countries because of the military technology we have, and they are always trying to outdo America. To maintain on top America I'm sure does may corrupt things along the way to maintain its position. I don't understand though, why they fight for these kind of things because really all their fighting for is who can get the most advanced weapons of mass destruction to destroy human race. Which affects its community in every way, economically, and socially. In the end the ones who end up paying for their competitions are the people of those countries even thought they have no say in what they want to fight for and what they shouldn't fight for.

Since I've been in english class I've learned many new words which I have added to my vocabulary and somehow they have seemed to have stuck to me, I find myself using many words I didn't know before when I talk. Which is really nice because I feel smarter and more educated when I can use more high level words to communicate myself with others. Also when I am reading books I tend to recognize these new words and it is much easier to know what they mean now. I have also applied these new words to the way I write stuff down to other people, i feel like I have improved my writing skills and can communicate them nicer. Another thing I have been tending to recognize lately outside school life is when I'm at stores I am drawn to articles or ads that I can recognize words that I've been learning. Before i never used to even think these words were used so often in the community, but ever since I've learned them i keep seeing them in more and more places and it just makes me think like wow I can't believe i never payed attention to these words before, it really surprises me. Applying these new words into my daily life has been beneficial and a great rewarding experience that will only make me grow academically and as a person.

If I could go back in time and be someone in history I would have to choose to be Harriet Tubman. I think what she did was amazing and a lot of people thanked her for it. She endangered herself along the way of helping others but she knew it had to be done because they needed to escape, the system of slavery was just unfair and cruel. She was a very strong women and knew what she was doing, along the way she would never let the slaves with her escape or back out because she wanted them to succeed and if they Did leave that could just ruin things for everyone else. She was one of the few women that actually acted because many women did have the same opinions as her but they never did anything to change because of fear of getting caught or punished even worse than they were already getting. She didn't let the white owners intimidate her and she took charge of what needed to be done. I think that's amazing especially in times back then when women basically had no rights to do anything, and when their opinion was not valued.

If the responsibility was in my hands to choose where 1 million dollars would be spent I would distribute it among all the children with the most necessity that don't have any money to eat or to stay warm. It would be a great feeling to know that I at least made one child a little bit more happy. The reason i would spend it on the children is because they are so young and innocent that at that age they really don't know whats occurring around them yet and they don't realize how horrible their situation is for them and their health. It is not their fault that they were born into a situation like that. Many children for example in Africa are frequently exposed to deadly diseases but since they don't have any money or not the most advanced medicine they die. With the money i would send i would give some to improve their health services and expand their amount of medicine. Another great thing they could do with the money is improve their schools so more people would attend and aspire goals for their future. The food is also an important thing because it is what keeps them well nutritioned and keeps them going, many children starve to death because there is no money to buy anything so with the aid of food many more people would be much healthier.

I have began trying to effect the change of pollution in our society. I realized how important it is for one to not dispose of trash where it is not intended to be. It will slowly kill our planet. Since becoming more aware of all the negative effects of pollution to our earth I have been trying to not pollute as much as possible, for example i never used to recycle but i knew it was important to I started doing to. I also never leave my trash lying around I always pick up after myself and throw it away in the trash so it doesn't end up somewhere else. I also try to clean up around my house once in a while so the trash that other people throw goes where it belongs. Another thing I've done that actually has benefited me as well is when i go the grocery store I take my own cloth bag so i don't have to use the store bags and that way they are not a waste. This has become very helpful to me because whenever me and my mom go grocery shopping we always have tons of grocery bags left over which are not necessary so with the cloth bag we can juts keep reusing it and it is earth friendly. Even though these things are very minor to make a significant change in our community i think it helps a little more than doing nothing at all.

If I could introduce one thing to a primitive culture I would choose to introduce the amount of medicine and cures we have today. So many people back then died of diseases when their bodies were exposed to diseases they have never encountered before, and they still didn't have the amount of knowledge of medicines we have today. Introducing the medicine we have today would have made a great impact to the primitive culture because the outcome would of been different than it is today I believe. When they tried to establish their own communities in a different area that had never been populated they encountered many deaths because of medicine reasons and therefore the community would vanish when every person died. So if the medicine we have today had been available to them back in their time many more communities would have been able to prosper and become immune to certain diseases. Another reason why I would introduce the medicine is because back then they had many more drastic methods of how to fix things that I imagine were very painful and bloody, and with the new medicine they would be able to avoid those painful measures and be able to cure it more easily.

If I had to choose a quotation to describe my self I would have to choose this one,"its better to cross the line and suffer the consequences than to just stare at the line for the rest of your life", simply because that's how I feel about life. You can't be worrying all the time what if somethings goes wrong, or what if ill regret it because if you do you will never accomplish nothing. You just have to do what you believe in or want to do without looking back. Another important reason why I chose this quote is because I know that sometimes people don't take risk because of what other people might say or think. I know its hard to ignore all the people around you that will judge you but its just a must. You just have to remember that in the end it is your life your making decisions for not theirs and in the end only you will suffer or enjoy the outcome of your risk taken, and I know how it feels to not take a risk and regret it later through personal experience because I have feared and thought about what will go wrong too many times but I know better now.

Having the authority to create a holiday I think I would choose beach unity day. Where everyone would just take a day of their daily lives , no job, and no school, and no responsibility and just go to the beach. I would choose the beach as my destination because its just a very relaxing place to me as I'm sure it is to others. The celebration on the beach would look like free food that all the restaurants brought to cooperate with beach unity day and the people could just choose what they pleased. There would also be many games scattered around the beach like sports such as volleyball, soccer, and football, but besides these games there would also be games to give back to our community such as with team could pick the most amount of trash in a certain time and who ever won would win a prize of their choice. At the celebration there would also be some rides so the young ones could get entertained on those both in the water and outside on sand. Towards the end of the night in the celebration everyone would come together in one place and just remain silent for 5 seconds with no interruptions all the lights would be off , all sound, and all machines so everyone would just have a moment to pay attention to the ocean and its beauty and the sounds the waves make.

The best advice I have ever received and constantly keep receiving is from my mom, no matter how many people I ask for advice my moms advice always seems to be the best out of all of them. I remember the time when I was growing up and my mom told me not to let other people pressure you to do stuff you don't want too she told me that you have to be strong and firm with your decisions because people will always want to drag you down with them. She also told me that people will always judge what you choose to do but that you have to ignore because it is your happiness what you do and it shouldn't concern other people. That advice has always helped me along my journey growing up so far because I have encountered several times when someone has tired to pressure me into something I don't think is right or something I don't believe in and this advice always seems to come back to me and it helps choose what I want do to not what other want me to do. Also when other people have problems and they come to me for advice I tend to find my self telling them the same advice my mom told me since it has helped me so much.

An important question that I wish a university would ask is, how hard did you work to get here? Often times they ask you why do u want to go here or what do you wish to accomplish but they never really ask you what did you do to get to what you are and I think that is a very important question because so many students sacrifice so much just to get some extra points or a higher grade. I think its important for universities to know all the extra time you put into your work and how you divided most of your time to studying and completing your homework instead of choosing to hang out with your friends on weekends, which is a very hard thing to do when your young because you don't want to miss out on the fun stuff but sometimes you have to in order to get to a higher place and to open more doors for your future. Besides sacrificing stuff with your friends you often sacrifice events with your family as well like in my experience when my family gets together on weekends to go to the park or to an amusement park I often find myself not going because I haven't finished my homework or because I have to study for an important stuff. So that's why colleges should ask that question because I don't think they realize how hard one works to get to where they wanna be.

I wake up 5 minutes late after my alarm has gone of, it is cold inside my room so I grab a sweater and my things to shower. Then I go sit-down at my computer desk and I go to do my makeup while I eat my waffle that I eat every morning. I change quickly , and I'm out the door. I hate how cold it is outside and sometimes it makes me be in a bad mood. Before I leave I go check on my dogs in the back yard because sometimes they get away and then I have to go find them. I usually always forget something inside my house so I have to go back inside running to get my belonging. As entering my house again I can smell the strong oder of coffee all over again and it somehow seems to wake me up. I run back to the car where my mom is already in and Wait for the car to heat up, as that is being done I check that I have brought everything that I need for the day. Once I know I have everything I am of to school and my days begin, awaiting a easy day or a horrible day .

Dear roommate,
My name is Sabina Hernandez and i just want to inform you that i am very excited to get to meet you and spend the rest of our time living with each other this semester. I am very new to this and have never lived with anyone else but my family and i must admit i am bit nervous but i am sure it will be fine. To get to know each other better i would like to tell you a bit about my background, I come from a very big family my grandma had 14 kids so as u can imagine i have plenty of tios and cousins. I have always lived with my mom at my grandmas house with 5 of my Tia's and i have never had a room of my own so this will be a new experience. I am an only child, which is great! i never really wished for another sibling. I have two dogs whom i care of very much i have had them since i was little and have always liked dogs so it will be hard saying bye to them for a while. Another thing about me is that i am very picky with food people say i hardly like anything, but i disagree i think i just like what taste the best. Well those are pretty much the basics about me and my history, i hope you get to know me more throughout time and that we create a friendship that will always last.

my ideas toward the quote are that it is true because wealth does posses people and it is very obvious in a community like ours. When people become wealthy they start thinking differently like they have the power to do anything they want, they think they can bribe anyone with money to get them to do what they want. Many become self absorbed into their own world because all they worry about now is how to get more money and they become ambitious. If something doesn't happen the way the wanted it to happen, all they have to do is pay to fix it since there is so much corruption that comes along with wealth. People will start stepping over others without caring to get what they want. Thats why i believe the people on top of the government are so corrupt because since they have a lot of money they believe they can do whatever they please and thats just not right. The imbalance of distribution wealth is just too high and it should stop, and thats why those are my opinions towards that quote.

The most valuable contribution that i would make to a college campus would be that it would be available to everyone. So many people say that they didn't go to college because they couldn't afford it, and if college was available to everyone they wouldn't have to have that excuse. It would be a great impact if anyone could go to college without having to worry about the money because there would be so many more people eager to go and try to get an education and improve their economic situation as well as the nations. By going to school they can expand their knowledge and be more aware of the things that happen in our society. Thats why i believe this would be the most valuable contribution to the college campus and to its students.

A significant experience i have encountered was when i was about to enter middle school. Since I didn't go to my home school that I was supposed to go to by the end of 6th grade I was also wishing to remain in that area and go with all my friends to hilltop middle school. That didn't work out though because if you wanted to transfer you needed to be accepted into flags, which i didn't. I was very devastated I dreaded going to school since my home school was castle park middle and I didn't know anyone there so i was very afraid to go. When it was finally time to go to school I went very sad that day because I wanted to be with my old friends but I couldn't, at the end of the day though I didn't regret one bit not getting accepted into the program flags at hilltop i actually thought it was the best thing that could of happened to me and I no longer had the decide to move. I made a ton of great friends that I had a lot of fun with and that I remained friends with still through high school. Going through this experience made me realize that things are not as bad as you make them to be and you just have to overcome your fears and know that life goes on.

A major concern to me is whats going to become of me later in life, if I'm going to get to do what i want, and if things are going to go the way i planned them. As i am growing older i have become to worry more about the grades i get in school because that will determine what college accepts me. I really want to go to a uc school and i have been really trying to hard to try to achieve that but sometimes i wonder if what I'm doing is really enough. I have set my mind on attending UCLA and i really don't know what i will do if i don't get accepted , I want to move away from home but not too far that i can't come to visit once in a while, I also think the weather is perfect there because it is very similar to San Diego. I know that if i don't get accepted there i will have to search for another college but that would really devastate me because it is not what i wanted and its not what i originally planned for and not what i imagined myself doing. So my concern for my future is really crucial these last two years i have in high school.

If I could change two things about our campus, I think I would have to choose changing the bell schedule and the food. I have hated our bell schedule since it was implemented I don’t think it benefits the students. It just seems to make me more tired throughout the day and I dread going to class where I have smi. The school should come up with a better system of how to distribute the hours throughout the day so it could be more effective for both teachers and students because many teachers also don’t like that we have to spend three hours in a class, sometimes they don’t have anything left to teach or they have already finished for the day and the rest of the class is just wasted time. This type of schedule just makes students get more distracted because it is hard to keep focus when your in a class sitting for three hours. The food is the other thing I would change because I also think it doesn’t benefit the students as well, many of the food they serve are very unhealthy and it doesn’t even taste good. Their always telling you to eat healthy and get the right servings but how can you do that when all they’re offering you is unhealthy. They should at least better how the food taste and have more options so students can choose what they want. Another reason I believe the food should change is because students look forward to that part of the day because many get hungry during class and the food they serve should get them energy for their next class to keep them focused. That’s why those are the two things I would change from my campus.

Education is something that should be mandatory, it will get you somewhere in this society even if you don't think it is for you. I always find myself hearing people they don't want to go college or that their going to drop out, but i also always hear people saying why didn't i stay in school and i don't see why they don't think the education they learn will help them later in life. Even if these people are so certain that the education they learn wont get them nowhere it should be required for them to attend school because it will allow them to have that option later in life to do something with their life's and they will aprecciate it. Another reason important why it should be mandatory is because our nation wouldn't have the same value it has, all the knowledge would be lost of our history. People wouldn't be able to debate over things because they wouldn't know that history behind them, thats why education is important and should be always mandatory.

If i had to choose an animal to communicate with i think i would have to choose a dog. A dog is one of those pets that spends the most time with you and that you treat as part of your family. They grow up with you since their just a baby and you basically are the ones who teach them to behave how you would like and to get used to your lifestyle. I know dogs express how their feeling in different ways like wagging their tails or barking or licking you, but i just think it would be great if they could talk because sometimes i just want to know what my dog is trying to tell me when it comes barking or just keeps looking at me. By them speaking i also think we could help them in some ways.
